Beach day!
We made reservations for The Gourmet at 6:30 this evening.
Our building is located close to the beach. The water is beautiful. Plenty of beach chairs are available. One side is more peaceful than the other. That is the side I chose. Water activities and volleyball are available. Beach towels are picked up and returned to the beach area. Each guest receives a card that entitles each guest to one towel each. Upon checkout be sure you have a card. There is a $20 charge for cards not returned.
Mojitos, portable Wi-Fi router and SiriusXM make for a perfect beach day!
Lunch at Buffet Central again. This time we decided to see what was on the other side. Completely different selections on both sides.
We spent most of the afternoon packing for tomorrow’s departure. There are several items not permitted through Punta Cana airport security.
The Gourmet is located next to Asiático.
I was very disappointed with The Gourmet. While the food presentation is great, the quality of the food is lacking. The appetizers and wine were the best part of the meal. The ribeye had lots of gristle. I eventually gave up trying to cut around it. Pasta olio was missing garlic and parmesean. I was also disappointed with the chocolate flan.
If I were to try The Gourmet again, I would try the chicken and mixed vegetables. My guest’s beef tenderloin was also lacking in flavor and resembled potted meat. The cheesecake did not have the consistency of cheesecake and tasted more like cake batter. We laughed at the meal throughout the evening. At least we still enjoyed ourselves.
The remainder of the evening was spent ensuring our carry on items would not be confiscated. Tomorrow, we return home. 😔
