Late risers! We missed breakfast but did make it at 10 am to meet our Sunwing reps, Samuel (Little Sammy) and Isreal. When you book with Vacation Express, a Sunwing rep is at the hotel daily to assist you with any questions. You should definitely meet the rep(s). They have valuable information. Most important information is what time to be in the hotel lobby on your departure date. The presentation was complete in about 30 minutes. I signed up to go to Coco Bongo tomorrow. Making a mental note to take a nap first. Hotel pickup is 10 pm. Drop off, 3 am.Walked around the property. There are 4 shops enroute to our room. I was pleasantly surprised by the low souvenir prices.
There are 2 separate pool areas. The one towards the front is more lively, with the one in the back being more laid-back.Being an all-inclusive hotel, all food and drink are included (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My first drink was a mojito. Second and third were pina coladas. Pina coladas taste much more like its intentional than the mojito. Neither were mixed well. The alcohol was at the bottom of each.Pre-dinner peacock show. ☺
We’ve only dined at the buffet so far. There are numerous options from which to choose, including a pasta station. You pick your pasta, sauce and items to add (mushrooms, onions, ham, etc.). It is then prepared for you. A peacock jumped up on the wall where I was sitting in search of food. They returned during dinner.We plan to make reservations at the other restaurants before we check out. They are also included without an extra charge.Next to the theater (only Wi-Fi location), you will find rhinoceros iguanas. Peacocks roam freely. Be prepared to share all open areas with them, including the buffet dining area. They make their daily appearances in the buffet area looking for handouts. The peacocks are never disappointed.
Photo of the tropical birds on the property.Just outside our room on the ground floor (elevator floor 0) is a fountain. There are several fish and a turtle. There may be more turtles than the one I’ve seen. Although the doors are solid wood, the fountain can be heard in the room. It sounds as though we left the water running in the bathroom.
A room opened up with 2 beds. However, the room was not to our liking. One more night sharing a bed.Tomorrow…Coco Bongo!
